SCHOOL SPIRITS EPISODE 4: ‘A WALK-IN TO REMEMBER’ REVIEW

By Sara Ashton

With scars reopening, school rules enforced and tension galore. This episode had everything and more you could want from a School Spirits episode.

The entire cast did stand out jobs in this episode in particular, and it is definitely my favourite so far.

Peyton List continues to wow in her two separate roles. Sure you can differentiate between Maddie and Janet onscreen, but the physicality and the way in which Peyton carries herself is to be admired. You can easily tell the difference between the characters, and Peyton is applauded for this.

Rainbow Wedell (Claire) and Milo Manheim (Wally) also delivered standout emotional performances in this episode. Seeing more depth and grit to these characters is so rewarding to see, and noticing how these characters are being fleshed out and developed is great to watch as a viewer.

Nick Pugliese also gave a memorable performance as Charley in this episode: seeing these ghosts reliving what haunts them the most was no easy feat. But they handled it with as much dignity as you’d expect, but the courage was definitely there.

Standout moments of this episode was seeing ‘Maddie’ back at home with her mom, sure — as mentioned above Peyton List did a great job at showing you it was actually Janet in her body, but her mom doesn’t know that. The scenes were written in such a way to cause tension and release the awkwardness that her mom perhaps couldn’t perceive.

And with the cliffhanger of the episode, we wish it was next week already. There are so many questions going through our heads right now…

Will they take Janet back to the school? Will they ever find out what happened to Mr Martin? Has he inhabited the body of Mr Anderson?

In true School Spirits fashion there are so many questions to be answered. Watch the show on Paramount+
