KICKS, CRIES & FRAT PARTY FIGHTS: A COBRA KAI PART 1 REVIEW

By Sara Ashton

What a start, ultimately believed the last season would never be topped, but just with 5 episodes, was definitely proven wrong.

The entire cast clearly give their all in the first five episodes which run more like one long movie that is meant to be watched back to back.

The introduction of new faces proves that Cobra Kai Never Dies. New student Kwon (Brandon H Lee) shows just how badass you can be! The new big bad to fear? Perhaps!

The characters we know and love go through all sorts of emotions in part one — make no mistake! After all, if there’s peace in The Valley, there will be something else to show them that life shows no mercy.

Stand out performance has to be from Peyton List. Having watched her in School Spirits, it is evident that she tackles emotional scenes very well. But the scenes in part 1 showcases just how terrific she is. Her range has not gone unnoticed, such a talent.

The binary brothers drama had us on the edge of our seats, it was obvious something was brewing and let’s just hope they mend things properly moving forward. Gianni DeCenzo and Jacob Bertrand show just how badass their characters are as they face off one more time! For old times sake, eh?

Ralph Macchio and William Zabka never fail to amaze. Amazing performances and their dynamic never disappoints. It’s all down to the material they are given, and they do a great job with it!

The bond between Miguel and Robby is still very fresh, and it seems we never would have gotten to this point, but here we are! It is admittedly very satisfying to see the teens get along, same goes for Samantha and Tory.

Speaking of bonds— felt surreal to see Miguel, Eli and Demetri getting along with Kyler and Brucks. However, this produced one of the most entertaining fights of the season yet, so we can’t really complain. It came out of nowhere, but it was an enjoyable fight.

As the tournament approaches, the question we ask is — who will reign supreme? Nail biting stuff for sure.

Part 2 releases November 15 and in all honesty, it cannot come quick enough!
